ABOUT

Gianna T. (b. 1993, Pesaro, Italy) lives and works in London. He is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans performance, video, painting, and photography. Rooted in a fascination with child-like curiosity and discovery, his work examines the unpredictable and often fragile relationship between body, gesture, and material. Through performances in which his body collides, balances, and merges with the canvas, painting becomes not a static medium but a living counterpart — a site of tension, irony, and revelation. This embodied dialogue transforms the act of painting into a ritual of unlearning, where failure, play, and physical resistance generate new ways of perceiving and feeling.
In his recent photographic series, Gianna T. expands this exploration by turning the camera on the performative process itself, capturing moments where his own body and the painted surface coexist within the same frame. These works blur distinctions between painter and subject, artwork and documentation, suggesting an intimate choreography between image-making and self-exposure. Across media, Gianna T. constructs a poetic language of encounter — where vulnerability, humour, and persistence become tools for rediscovering the world beyond the bounds of reason and categorisation.

He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Urbino, Italy, and has been part of LAS (Deptford, London) since April 2025. Selected solo exhibitions include The Work of Being (Gianna T & Vincent Matuschka, Wild Trumpet, London, UK, 2025), curated by Kitty Gurnos-Davis, and Life is Beautiful (French Place, London, UK, 2022), curated by Hector Campbell.
